Special expertise: Poor prognosis conditions, including previously unsuccessful glaucoma surgery, secondary glaucoma, advanced glaucomatous optic atrophy, and patients with only one seeing eye. Congenital and childhood glaucomas are also part of the special expertise. Diagnostic dilemmas are also welcome.

Diagnostic capabilities: Automated perimetry, darkroom prone provocative testing, specular microscopy testing, tonography, pachymetry, optic-disk photography, optic nerve laser scanning, iris fluorescein angiography, A and B scan ultrasonography and ultrasound biomicroscopy.

Special outpatient procedures include contact Ng-Yag transcleral cyclophotocoagulation, endocyclophotocoagulation, Argon-laser trabeculoplasty, selective laser trabeculplasty, Yag-iridectomies and laser sclerostomies.

The service has extensive experience with surgically implanted valves for glaucoma, and new approaches to these devices are being studied. Non-penetrating glaucoma surgery is also offered.
